Diversion Product Update: August Highlights (08/24)

Dear Diversion community,

We're excited to share some product updates from the past month on the latest additions to Diversion!

Branch Visualization -

If you haven’t already checked it out, we’ve just rolled out the first version of branch visualization! This long-awaited feature has been on our roadmap, and we know many of you have been looking forward to it. Simply click the button, and you’ll be taken to a page where you can visually explore all your branches, commits, and merges.

Your branch visualization will open up:

It’s still new and evolving, so we’d love to hear your thoughts on it :)

Plan & Billing Integration -

We’ve added a new “Plan & Billing” section under the settings avatar. From there, you can easily adjust your plan as needed. If you reach your free tier limit - your experience won’t be interrupted for now. We’ll contact you with payment instructions, but you can also use the self-serve option. Soon, this feature will be enhanced to let you monitor usage, manage your organization, and receive timely warnings when needed.

Active and Cloned Labels on the Workspace List -

Navigating the application just got easier! You’ll now see a “Cloned” label on any workspace that’s locally cloned, and an “Active” label on the workspace you’re currently viewing or working in.

Undo into Workspace -

We’ve enhanced the “Commit Undo” functionality so that reverting changes are now inserted into your current workspace, rather than immediately creating a revert commit. To perform this action, the workspace must be clean (no uncommitted changes). This change is designed to give you better control and flexibility, allowing you to make further adjustments before committing.

Enhanced Login and Logout Flows -

We’ve made substantial improvements to the login and logout processes, addressing your feedback and adding new features:

- Google login:
now redirects through an external web page, so if you’re concerned about entering Google credentials directly into the app, you’ll now be redirected to Google in your browser when you log in.

- Switching accounts:
is now fully supported! You can easily switch between different Diversion accounts - just log out safely and then log in with your other account. To enable these features, make sure your desktop application is updated to version 0.3.0 or higher (it should update automatically, but if not, click on “Check for updates” in the app menu).
